This is the platform working as intended rather than a limitation to be lifted later.

Why appliances stay simple

A simple appliance is cheaper to build, faster to certify and far easier to replace. It also cannot disagree with the rest of the system, because it holds no opinion about what its measurements mean.

For a partner, this is the commercially attractive part: the regulatory and clinical burden of interpretation does not fall on the device.
